Organise Your Own Event

Background Shape

No matter how simple or or complex, your event ideas can be turned into amazing fundraisers and we're here to help.

We always like to know who is going all out to raise money for Rossendale Hospice and help out if we can.

If you do wish to hold an event in aid of the hospice, please could you let the hospice fundraising department know either by telephone on 01706 253633 or by email fundraising@rossendalehospice.org and complete the Fundraising Registration Agreement.

Got a great idea? Awesome! Need some inspiration? Why not try one of these:

Physical Challenges
Hospice Daredevils

Go on a sponsored walk, swim, run a marathon, climb the Three Peaks, lose weight, sponsored head shave or give up smoking. You can get your friends, family and work colleagues to sponsor you to do something that you have always wanted to do! We will be more than happy to provide you with bespoke sponsor forms.

Get Togethers

Coffee Morning

Invite your family and friends round for a coffee and cake and ask them for a donation – you could always gift aid your donations to boost your fundraising.

BBQ/Garden Party

Invite your family and friends to a charity BBQ/garden party where they fetch their own drink and contribute some food to a Jacob’s join. Charge an entrance fee; hold a raffle and various competitions.

Pub Crawl

For the over 18 years only!!! Think of a pub crawl route and ask the appropriate landlords for their permission (prior to the event) to collect donations. We are able to provide Rossendale Hospice T-shirts, collection buckets and stickers.

Club Socials

Ask your local landlord if you are able to organise a charity quiz or perhaps a darts, domino or pool competition or even a race day/night?

Schools and Workplaces

Dress Down/Non Uniform Day

Everyone makes a donation to wear their own choice of clothes at work or school or set a fancy dress theme.

Team Events

Any kind of inter-house group event is great for team building and builds a sense of healthy competition. Add in a sponsorship element and suddenly you have a great fundraise on your hands.

Raffles & Auctions

Raffle off donated goods or services from friends and family or local buisness, or if it's one really great prize, why not auction it off to the highest bidder?

Don't forget to capture it
Take digital photographs on the day — often local press will feature an article after an event if they are supplied with a good photograph and some information answering the questions How, Where, When, What and Why?
If you've set up something like a sponsorship page, you might still get some sponrs after the fact if they see photographs of the day.

We would also like to feature your fundraising on our website, Newsletters and our Social Media sites.

Getting the donations to us

Set up an online page
We would recommend Just Giving as the best platform to host your fundraiser on.
This way, your sponsors can donate directly to your event and Just Giving will make the payment to us at the end.
It's easy for you, easy for us and easy to adjust your target if you get inundated woith donations!
Findout more about setting up a page HERE

What if I collected cash?
Either you can bank it and do a bank transfer to us, send us a cheque or make a payment with your bank card over the phone.

Alternatively, you can bring your cash in to us here at the Hospice directly. We do have a limit on the amount of cash we can accept in one go so if you have done REALLY well, maybe give us a call first.
