3 Peaks Challenge
08/07/2023
Will you Hike for the Hospice?
Mountain Edge and Rossendale Hospice have joined forces to allow you to don your walking boots and raise vital funds for Rossendale Hospice.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks walk is a challenging, full day hill/mountain walk in the Yorkshire Dales.
This is a circular walk, starting and finishing at the same place, and the total walking distance is approximately 24 miles (39 km).
The challenge is to complete the walk within 12 hours.
Starting in Horton-in-Ribblesdale you will climb to the summits of
Pen-y-Ghent (2,227 ft, 694m)
Whernside (2,415 ft, 736 m)
Ingleborough (2,372 ft, 723m)
We are asking for just £35 per person sign up fee and are encouraging walkers to try and bring in enough sponsorship to fund a Nurse for a Night (£130)
To complete the walk in 12 hours you should be in good physical condition.
To improve your chance of success three training walks are provided.
It is very important that you also walk and train in between these organised training walks.
Condition training is a great way to improve your fitness, eg weights, swimming, gym classes.
The starting location is:
The Golden Lion Hotel,
Horton-in-Ribblesdale,
BD24 0HB
Registration at 6.30am.
