Complementary therapies

At Rossendale Hospice we use a range of Complementary Therapies, which can work alongside conventional medical treatment, to help relieve pain or other unwelcome symptoms.

What are Complementary Therapies?
Complementary therapies are things like aromatherapy massage, reflexology and Reiki. Research, evidence and experience has shown that complementary therapies can help relieve stress and tension, aid relaxation and promote a sense of well-being.

We have state of the art private rooms fully equipped for you to receive the best therapy possible.

Who can access them?
Complementary Therapy sessions are available by appointment for Rossendale patients living with cancer or other life-limiting illness and for their carers.

Our rooms are accessibility-minded and we even have a hydro-therapy area complete with full accessible bath and sit-in shower.

A healthcare professional can refer someone, or those who met the citeria can self-refer. Just head to the form to find out more.

How do I know what's right for me?
Explanation of the different types of Complementary Therapies available are given at an initial assessment, along with discussion of which might be most helpful. A treatment plan is agreed between the therapist and the individual before therapy begins.
