We managed to make Rachel’s day when she bagged herself an incredible £2,000 from our Weekly Draw!

Rachel has previously been a patient with the Hospice and told us that until she became a patient, she had a big misconception of the Hospice and the work that we do. Rachel was diagnosed with Cancer in 2006 and was referred to the Hospice during her treatment. She told us that she had her doubts and was very reluctant to attend but says, with confidence, that she has made lifelong friends from attending our services and has never looked back!

One of Rachel’s favourite things to do during her ‘Early Diagnosis Day’ sessions were the crafts and utilising all our complementary therapies on offer.

Rachel is an amazing mother of 2 and is using the money to visit her son, who is residing in Japan. Her daughter has always been fascinated by nursing and helping people. Rachel’s illness really sparked her interest and she is now in her third year of nursing at University.

Rachel decided to join our Weekly Draw as her way to give back, she appreciates and understands that however she can contribute and help the hospice is greatly appreciated.
