Rossendale Hospice works in collaboration with other service providers as part of the Pennine Lancashire End of Life and Palliative Care Strategy

All of our services are offered free of charge to any qualifying patient and can be accessed via referral.

What services are offered?
We offer a wide range of services through the team here at Rossendale Hospice, not limited to but including:
  • Hospice at Home care
  • Wellbeing Day sessions
  • BACP approved Counselling
  • Advance Care Planning
Plus Complementary Therapies such as:
  • Aromatherapy
  • Reiki
  • Reflexology
  • Indian Head Massage
  • Yoga
  • Massage


 
Who qualifies for a referral to us?
Referrals to Rossendale Hospice are accepted for any of the following reasons:
  • Patients with a progressive disease of any cause who have complex pain and/or symptom control issues
  • The patient and/or their carer has psychological and/or spiritual or social needs
  • The patient needs end of life care - (this encompasses a range of needs and timescales - from those patients thought to be in their last year of life - e.g. support for advance care planning - to those patients in their last hours/days of life)

Hospice at Home patients are required to meet either Continuing Health Care Fast Track criteria or are in need of temporary care input when going through treatments.

Who can make a referral?
Referrals are accepted from Healthcare Professionals invloved in the patient's care including:
  • Hospital Doctors
  • GP's
  • District Nurses
  • Specialist Nurses (all specialties)
  • Hospital Discharge Teams
  • Nursing Home Matrons
  • Patients may also refer themselves or can be referred by a family member with their permission

We would highly encourage the first step to be a call to our clinical team to ensure our services are right for the patient.
