The E J Stansfield Group donated a brand new car to auction at this years Annual Ball. The Hyundai I10, was sold for £9,500 on the live auction to Blaise Farmer. Thank you to the cyclists and support team at Haslingden Cricket Club for donating £1000 to the Hospice. In July, a team cycled from the Lords Cricket ground to Haslingden Cricket Club raising an amazing £8000. Thank you to everyone involved!
The Freemasons have given over a million of these adorable teddies to lots of organisations across England and Wales. Today we received over 70 teddies to give out to children accessing Hospice services. We would like to thank the Freemasons of Bury and Rossendale for supporting local children in this special way.
Despite the news the store is to close, we would like to thank the customers of Jack's Rawtenstall for voting for the Hospice as part of the Jack's Supports scheme. We have received a total of £750 over 3 months. Thank you!
A big well done to Michelle Procter, Leanne Royle and Jane Young who together completed the 2019 Round the Hills walk earlier this month. Each of them has their own special reason for raising money for the Hospice. With raising over £1,000 from two consecutive Round the Hills Walks and Colour Dash fundraising they have well and truly earnt a golden leaf on our Giving Tree! Thank you!
A big thank you goes to Andrew Lindsay who back in July completed the 88 mile Hadrian's Wall trek along with his friend Ant. Andrew wanted to raise money for Rossendale Hospice while Ant raised money for a local children's Hospice. They managed to complete the challenge in four days and Andrew has raised an amazing £1202.36! Thank you to Andrew and all who donated!
Last month, Sean & Manuela Seymour celebrated their beautiful wedding. Instead of asking for gifts, they asked their family & friends to donate to Rossendale Hospice in memory of Manuela's father William who sadly passed away. The generosity has been amazing and they have raised a fantastic £2187.50! Thank you very much to all who donated!
A huge THANK YOU to the team at Cross Fit Vita Ray for completing the Three Peaks Challenge earlier this month and raising an astounding £4494.08! This is fantastic amount of money and will go a long way in providing care and support to our patients.
Thank you to the staff, players & their families at Junior Hoops FC for raising a fabulous £845.36 at the Football Festival they held in June. We hope all the children had a great time and enjoyed helping to raise such a great amount for the Hospice. Well done!
In June, The Friends Group at Rossendale Hospice organised a Curry night at Anar Kali Restaurant. The evening was enjoyed by over 60 people and has raised a fantastic £621.20 for the Hospice. Thank you to the Friends and everyone who came to support the event.
Well done to the Haslingden District Nurses for raising a fabulous £554! In April the Nurses took part in our Steps Challenge, completing over 10,000 steps a day for a whole month! Between them they have also been doing other fundraising such as making Happiness Kits and enjoying a Cheese & Wine evening resulting in them achieving a leaf on our Golden Tree. A big thank you to everyone involved!
As a result of the Rossendale Round Table closing, we were delighted to be invited to the last Spice Night held at Ashoka. Here, the Hospice were presented with a cheque for £1000 which we are incredibly grateful for.

The Rossendale Hospice Friends Group held their Cake Sale at the Health Centre earlier this month raising a fantastic £350.54. St Thomas' Church Refectory Café in Helmshore held their annual Coffee Morning in aid of the Hospice on Saturday 23rd February. A fantastic effort by all the volunteers who helped run the event. All the proceeds from the café, raffle and a book stall have been donated totalling £400 - thank you very much!
17 members of staff from Irwell Medical Practice have set themselves the challenge of completing the Gung-Ho challenge on the 29th June. They have chosen to support Rossendale Hospice and the money they raise will be donated to the Hospice. Gareth Whittaker completed the Great North Run on the 9th of September. Gareth has set himself a 396 day challenge as well as training and completing the Great North Run. Ella McGovern who was caught up in the atrocities at the Manchester Arena had to postpone the challenge of climbing Ben Nevis because of her injuries. Well we’re proud to say that Ella along with other family members supporting her, managed the climb on the 14th October!!
On 25th June 2016 Simon will be undertaking the gruelling 3 Peaks Challenge – trekking up Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowdon all within 24 hours. Simon is fundraising for Rossendale Hospice "because of the fantastic care my dad received."

There are two of these hampers being raffled off to help raise funds for the hospice. A big thank you to a group of Argos staff who have helped tidy up our storage unit! Over the past 6 months local store manager Catherine Smith has coordinated a team of enthusiastic volunteers from regional Argos stores to help us with a number of tasks such as tidying units, the Sunflower appeal & the Colour Dash.
