Rossendale Hospice Tandem Skydive at 11,000ft to support your local hospice!
When: Sunday 22nd August 2021
Where: Black Knights Parachute Centre, Cockerham, Lancaster LA2 0DY
Payment: £100 deposit with remaining balance of £130 on the day
Sponsorship amount: We’re asking a minimum of £350 in sponsorship to be raised to fund vital care in Rossendale
What is the challenge?
On the day you will make your own way to the parachute centre in Lancaster. You will take part in this amazing experience with a fully qualified British Skydiving instructor, reaching speeds of approximately 120mph.
Tandem Skydiving is the safest option for first time skydivers. Rather than deploying the parachute and steering the canopy on your own you’ll be strapped to an extremely experienced instructor who has a vast amount of jumps under their belt. You can then take in the beautiful scenery before safely landing. No previous experience is needed, you will receive the short training needed on the day.
Who can do it?
Anyone over the age of 16 can book. Anyone who is aged 16 or 17 will need parental signatures on their paperwork and ID to take part. A parent or guardian will also need to be present on the jump day. If you are aged 70 years or over, you will need to fill in a medical form (BPA Form 115b) and get it signed and stamped by your GP. You’ll also need to book in for a safety assessment at the centre prior to the day.
Weight restrictions apply and when registering you will be asked to provide your weight and height. The weight limit for Females is 13st (82.5kg) and for Males 15st (95kg). BMI is taken into account, so if you’re over these limits, BKPC will advise as they can take jumpers up to two stone (12.5kg) over these weights - this comes at an additional charge due to equipment hire costs (payable to BKPC). The jumper will also be required to complete a safety assessment at the centre prior to the day.
