Rossendale Colour Dash 2019

More than 260 people took part in the fun at Marl Pits on Saturday 6th July 2019.

The Rossendale Colour Dash is a 4km run, walk or jog starting from Marl Pits running track. Participants are showered with coloured powder by passing through colour stations. The route takes participants up over the rugby fields and past the Golf Range. They will then take in the fantastic views from Hurst Lane and descend back down to the Leisure Centre.

The Rossendale Colour Dash, held at Marl Pits Leisure Centre, Rawtenstall in aid of Rossendale Hospice, attracted more than 260 participants.

Dancers from ‘Dance Like No-One’s Watching’ entertained the crowds followed by their founder Joanne Entwistle warming everyone up.

Hospice mascot Ross Bear help set off hundreds of supporters from the start line along with local DJ Peter Sweetmore.

Families, couples and groups of friends all gathered at the start line to take on the 4km course, dressed in white T-shirts and colourful accessories.

Throughout the course they passed through six colour stations where they were covered with powdered paint to create the ultimate rainbow effect.

As colour dashers crossed the finish line, they were greeted by staff from local Co-op stores and Argos Accrington who together with Dance Like No-One’s watching dancers, handed out goody bags and a well-deserved souvenir medal.

Thank you to all the supporters, volunteers and companies who made the event a great success.
