Over 170 ladies got into the festive spirit with a Christmas lunch at Nino’s Restaurant, Rawtenstall and raised over £12,000 for Rossendale Hospice.
The day was organised by the Special Events Committee and sponsored by CFH design. The committee is a long standing group of fantastic volunteers who dedicate their time to this event.
The festivities got off to a thought provoking start, with a talk by Mel Fourie, who told her story of having breast cancer and why she joined the Special Events Committee.
Compare Julian Jeffery got everyone in the charitable spirit with a live auction and other festive fundraising. Many prizes were donated to the event by local supporters which included a holiday apartment in Tenerife for 7 days donated by Heads Above, a beauty package donated by Luciella & Co, an Interior Designer voucher provided by Vicky Callan Interior Design and Soft Furnishings and a course of Dermaplaning donated by Anna at B Beautiful, plus many more. There was also a raffle with lots of prizes donated by local businesses.
The afternoon saw guests being entertained by ‘Dax on Sax’ who got everyone up and dancing.

A huge thank you for the donation of £5000 from the Mark Benevolent Fund which was received by Joanna Williams when VWBro David H Thompson, PGJO, APGM, presented her with the cheque. He was accompanied by Matthew Phillips the Worshipful Master of Turton Lodge No 1300 and Stephen Jackson the Worshipful Master of Nuttall Lodge No 1405. Also in attendance was WBro Graham Mangham who is a Trustee of Rossendale Hospice and a member of the Mark Province of East Lancashire.
