Ladies Christmas Lunch 2017

This year’s Ladies Lunch was attended by 175 ladies who all got in the Christmas spirit to raise Rossendale Hospice a fantastic £11,400.

The festive day started with a fizz reception and a surprise visit from some policeman, who broke into a rendition of   ‘O’ Sole Mio’, followed by dancing with ‘Dax on Sax’.

The well-known Ladies Christmas Lunch was held at Nino’s Restaurant in Rawtenstall on Friday.  Joe Casserley, was the host for the day and did a fantastic job of getting the bids in for the auction prizes.  Prizes included a 7 night stay in a fantastic Spanish villa and tickets to the Steps Concert with access to the after party in Cloud23, plus an overnight stay at the Hilton Hotel.

The event is organised by a small group of volunteers called the Special Events Committee, who are also supported by CFH Design.  Sam Morris, Fundraising Manager said “the Hospice is delighted that the event raised just over £11,000. It’s a brilliant result for the ladies, who put in the hard work to organise this fantastic day, which is enjoyed by everyone who attends.  It is also of great benefit to the patients at the Hospice, who receive care thanks to the generosity of everyone involved.”

The Hospice provides day therapy to people in Rossendale living with a life limiting condition including Hospice at Home. The Hospice at Home nurses care for people at the end stages of their life in their own home, 24 hours a day, seven days a week and during the festive period.
