Firewalk Challenge 2016

Twenty eight turned up at Rossendale Rugby Club on the 18th March, 2016 to fulfill a burning desire to walk on flaming coals.

Whilst this was certainly the shortest sponsored walk held in the Valley, it was certainly one of the most challenging. The firewalkers underwent a 90-minutes training session provided by the Blaze Firewalking Team which enabled them to overcome their fears and undertake this unique experience.

The fire walkers which were a mixture of individuals and groups of work colleagues from Keenans Estate Agents, Arthouse and Bright & Beautiful Rossendale.

Nicola Bailey, Franchise Owner of Bright & Beautiful undertook the firewalk challenge for the second time.  Nicola comments “I live and work in Rossendale and like to support a charity that benefits local people.   The atmosphere was amazing and although I’d done it before I still felt the adrenaline rush followed by a huge sense of achievement and elation.”

Hospice Fundraising and Marketing Manager Alison Whittaker-Stewart says “the firewalk was a fabulous event.  We are very grateful to everyone who took part and their friends and family for sponsoring them – the event generated an income of £3616”
