Marathon 2010
This year the London Marathon celebrates its 30th birthday
and with Virgin as its new sponsor it is anticipated
that the 2010 marathon will be the biggest and best yet!
Rossendale Hospice obtained one Silver
Bond place
which has been awarded to Blair Fotheringham, who has pledged
to raise in excess of £1500 in sponsorship.
Blair is already paving his way to success – you may
have seen him running a marathon on a treadmill in ASDA Rawtenstall
in December 2009 which raised £784.48 -
thank you to everyone
who supported him.
If you have obtained your own place and would like Rossendale
Hospice to be the beneficiary of your fundraising, please
let us know and we can provide as much support as you like.
Colin Nightingale obtained his own place in the 2008 marathon
and raised over £1150.00
The Bacup Postman supplemented his sponsorship with funding
from his employer.
“At the 23rd mile I was feeling tired, sore and
very wet but I needed to finish the last 3 miles - 5 hours,
8 minutes and 20 seconds later I passed the finish line,
it is such a great feeling to know I have done something
worthwhile for a fantastic cause”.
