BALL 2011
Rossendale Hospice Annual Ball on 2nd July 2011 proved to be another hugely successful and enjoyable event organised by our lovely ladies on the Special Events Committee.
The night was hosted by Jim Rosenthal who gave the guests a choice of bidding at the auction, entering the raffle or being in with a chance of winning the jewellery prize draw donated by Hanks & Mulroy.
Guests also had the opportunity to be photographed with the premiership trophy & enjoyed a four course dinner followed by a midnight supper while being entertained by the 3 piece band, Area D.
Thank you to everyone who supported the event and all the sponsors.
The amount raised was a phenominal £40,688.

ANNUAL
BALL 2010
Rossendale Hospice raised an amazing £50,000 at their 10th annual ball on Saturday 4th September.
The event, at the Lowry Hotel, was attended by 230 guests
including Sophie Conran, Phil Neville, Sir David
Trippier and Lady Ruth, Jake Berry, MP for Rossendale and Darwen
with Andy Peebles (Smooth fm) compering and Neville
Neville as auctioneer.
One guest bid £10,000 for four tickets to the BBC
Sports Personality of the Year awards ceremony including
a stay at the Forest of Arden Hotel, Birmingham donated
by Ms Hilary Garvey. Other top auction items include; a
weeks holiday skiing in Meribel donated by Mr & Mrs
Malley, a luxury villa holiday donated by Claim
Link Advice Centre, a kitchen donated by JJO and several items of sporting
memorabilia.
The event was organised by the Special Events Committee,
a team of volunteers who also stage the Rossendale Woman
of the Year Award. Over the past 10 years the group has
raised a staggering £385,156.
Irene Smith, Hospice Manager commented;
“
The Hospice is truly appreciative of the tremendous amount
of hard work and commitment afforded to us, in a voluntary
capacity by the Special Events Committee. Saturday was
yet another hugely successful event, which more than exceeded
our expectations
We would like to thank past and present committee members
and at the same time offer a special thank you to Louise
Pillitteri (Chair) who is stepping down at the end of the
year but will continue as a member of the committee. Likewise
big thanks to all our guests for their support and generosity
on the evening”
